Religious Holidays

I don't propose eliminating Christmas or Easter. I do propose adding Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Diwali to our list of holidays. The Eids celebrate our Muslim population and Diwali celebrates our Hindu people. In order to incorporate their strengths in our society, it is helpful to celebrate along with them.

I do this for two reasons. First, who doesn't want more holidays and festivals in their lives? Second, including these few days includes about two billion people worldwide who will now feel at least a bit more seen. It brings balance to our people that don't prescribe to the Christian faith without removing anything from those who do.
